The Lay Hymn (https://youtu.be/mt1xCIu4pog?si=ahXDlzqulXuMQvcU)
We’re Laity
Dr. Victor Taylor Dr. Willie Graham Tune: We’re Marching to Zion
We’re asking others to come and join Lay ministry work
and help to build a stronger church
and help to build a stronger church
and win more souls to Christ, and win more souls to Christ.
We’re Laity, God’s people, His servants we’re dutiful Laity.
We’re Lay who are working for Jesus to build the Kingdom of God.
We know some may not come but we won’t lose the faith,
for Christ the Lord is on our side,
for Christ the Lord is on our side
with Him we cannot fail, with Him we cannot fail. (Chorus)
So let us do our best in service of the Lord.
To bring God’s Kingdom here on earth,
to bring God’s Kingdom here on earth
and win the hearts of man, and win the hearts of man. (Chorus)
THE LAY LITANY
LEADER: Today we come before God with a heart full of grace and
thanksgiving as servants of Christ.
CONGREGATION: We stand together leading with love, guided by His Word as His humble Disciples.
LEADER: Our affirmation of faith affirms our belief in Jesus as the son of God and the Holy Spirit as our comforter and guide.
CONGREGATION: We are charged to inspire others to follow Christ who is the one and true living God.
LEADER: We are admonished by the word to be transformed by the renewing of our minds in order that we might surrender our will and our lives to be more like Christ.
CONGREGATION: Lord, to yield is to submit or surrender. Help us
Father as we pray to surrender all, for in surrendering we yield to your will.
LEADER: Let our leading be pleasing in the sight of God.
CONGREGATION: Let our affirming others provide encouragement, hope and peace.
LEADER: Let our inspiring touch the hearts of the believers to evangelize for Christ.
CONGREGATION: Let our transforming reflect grace and mercy, for such are the gifts from God.
LEADER: Let our yielding be sincere and a voluntary act of obedience to God’s will and authority.
ALL: We are willing servants of Christ. We must never forget that we are the laity--leading, affirming, inspiring, transforming, and yielding--so that our light will shine before others that we may give glory to our Father who is in Heaven.
